Not a story, I'm afraid, but a short note on a horror podcast my work has been featured on...
My first blog post, a short piece of horror flash fiction called The Minute Murderer, has been featured on The Red Treehouse podcast, hosted by Will Soto. Will runs the podcast telling scary stories to keep you up at night! There are over 80 episodes of scary content and can be found on Spotify.
As for the story itself, I had the concept for The Minute Murderer in my head for a good couple of years, but I could never attach a full story to it. So when I decided to experiment with short-short writing, or flash fiction, I thought it was a good starting point. The considered it an experiment, and I challenged myself 1500 words in 48 hours. I was skeptical when I started writing it but I am very happy with the short story and I may even pick it up again and try writing a longer piece around it in the future...
I was very lucky to connect with Will on Threads, and he kindly offered to read the story with another piece by Mike Kelso called My Neighours Have Disappeared, which I highly recommend listening to also.
So I'm very grateful to Will and The Red Treehouse for taking the time to consider my work, and I secretly hope it's not the last time ;)
